Irrigation update as of 05-29-09

The VFD pump controller didn't come in this week. It has shipped and is due in the middle of next week.

We are doing everything we can to limp the system along. I will check the system this weekend and reset the pump as needed. Feel free to contact me if the pressure is down.

***Irrigation Update as of 05/22/09***

Summerfield Homeowners,

Lawnco spoke with Caron Pump today and the VFD had to be back ordered. It looks like the end of next week before it will arrive. This is a maintenance issue that could not be avoided. Please be patient, as Lawnco and Caron Pump have no control over when this item arrives. They, our property mangers CPM, and your board, are doing all we can to remedy the low pressure situation.

There have been a couple of unneighborly calls to the property management company regarding the water. Please remember to be courteous in all your phone calls and understand that some things are beyond our control. There is no guarantee in the CC&R's that you will never be without water and we are doing everything we can to get the system up and working properly.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience!

Neighborhood Services

By The Neighbors For The Neighbors

We would like to give members of our neighborhood an opportunity to share some of their services with the rest of our neighborhood, i.e. lawn mowing, swim lessons, etc. Please post your services as a comment to this blog for others in our neighborhood to view what you have to offer.

Please don't turn this into a commercial but rather a good opportunity to quickly share what you have to offer to our fellow neighbors.

***HELP WANTED: HOA Secretary, Newsletter writer***

SECRETARY WANTED: Attention all Summerfield Neighbors: The new Summerfield HOA board met for the first time since the annual meeting. There are 5 current members on the board. What we discovered is that we are lacking a person to fill the role of secretary, as none of us feel qualified to take this on.

We discussed two possible remedies for that. 1.) One of you, an HOA member and neighbor, could come forth and volunteer to be a board member, willing to take on the secretary role. Or, 2.) We can vote as a board to pay someone $25 per meeting to take notes/minutes and type them up for us. We generally meet once per quarter plus the annual meeting and possibly a 2nd rescheduled annual meeting.

NEWSLETTER WRITER WANTED: In years past, the Summerfield HOA had a newletter distributed by mail to the HOA members on a quarterly basis. Previous property management provided the service and mailed them out. Our current property management does not provide this service. If there is an HOA member (neighbor) who enjoys putting newsletters together and has some spare time, this might be a fun post for them.

Please comment to this blog post if you are interested in either of the above mentioned duties. Include your contact information, or call Complete Property Management and give that information to Trish and Randy Callies at 208-387-0004.

Thank you.

Irrigation Update

I reset the pump controller. The main pump controller has had problems over the last couple of years. We are in the process of getting it replaced. Please notify the HOA Board if you notice a loss in pressure and we will reset the pump.

Thanks,

Summerfield Sub Garage Sale

The Summerfield Subdivision garage sale will be the 3rd Saturday in May, May 16th. This should be approximately the same timing as last year. The subdivision has a banner that we will have put out the week before the sale.

Robber in Summerfield Sub

Last night we had a thief in the neighborhood stealing from cars. Thanks to the help of one of our homeowners he was run off and later caught by the police. The thief is in police custody. The thief was seen on Summerridge Dr., on the north side of our subdivision. He had parked his car on the south side of our subdivision towards Ustick Rd.. I would suggest that each of you check your vehicles or other possible areas that the thief could have accessed to steal your belongings. If you find something is missing please report it to the Meridian Police Department on their non emergency number.

Irrigation System Is On

The system is on and operational. If you aren't receiving water please let us know.

As many of you are aware our irrigation pump system has given us some problems again this year. The main pump and one of the smaller pumps had to be replaced. The smaller pump was replaced under warranty.

The board will be evaluating some long term planning for our pumps to try and minimize problems and expenses as best we can.

One of the 2 filters if currently offline. It has a hole in its metal housing we are attempting to have fixed. The water may not be as clean with only one filter operating.

Thanks for your patience.

Water Update

I just stopped and talked to the pump guys.

They are working to get one pump up and working for the weekend. It will give some limited supply. Tell people to be conservative.

The big problem is that 2 of the pumps need to be replaced. The large 15 horse pump and one of the smaller 3 horse pumps are both dead. If the pumps are in stock at a local supply house they will get them installed the 1st part of next week. The 3 horse pump may be under warranty for the pump not any labor. They will check on it.

He also explained we need to make plans to replace a control box called the VFD. This box controls the 3 pumps and the pressure in our system. This allows our pumps to put out more or less water, depending on what is being used by the residence. He believes it is on its last leg.

They didn’t have pricing for the new pumps. I believe the board has received quotes in the past so it should be close to those costs.

We also need to do some long term planning for the next 5 to 7 years and make some plans for next time pumps will need to be replaced.
